We Felt the Frustration
For generations, the only way to improve as an artisan has been to seek out those with more expertise- traveling to their workshops and classes, sacrificing time (and money) in the workshop with the hope that the knowledge and skills gained would make the sacrifice worth it.
We knew there had to be a better way...
Together, our team of industry experts and artisans dreamed up a solution. One that would allow artisans to learn at their own convenience without sacrificing quality instruction. One that would foster collaboration and connection in the industry. One that would allow artisans to leapfrog over the typical barriers to success and allow them to thrive in their art.
And that is how Illum Atelier was born.
Welcome to Illum Atelier
Illum Atelier is a one-of-a-kind subscription-based online learning platform dedicated to teaching the worldwide traditional arts community the fundamental skills needed to find success at every level of craftsmanship. We have built a world-class filming studio in Salt Lake City, Utah where we invite artisans and craftsmen in the community from all over the world to create course curricula. Classes cover a myriad of topics including, but not limited to, the most fundamental understanding of types of materials, tools, and machinery, to full project-based instructional courses. We are striving to elevate and unite the traditional arts community through this unique learning experience.
